I gave up tonight - had 8 err=5 messages when I was simply trying to go between towns or observe a gvg.

I went to pre-searing to set a char up for my daughter to play on and strangley had zero lag, zero errors

Went back onto my normal chars and got kicked off straight away

You've all got off light. GvGing tonight 5 of 8 of us failed to even load the map. Err 7 is nothing, error 5 is pure evil.

I'll throw in with you all. The lag today in Perdition Rock made the game virtually unplayable. I can't imagine we'd go in for any gvgs until this is corrected.

Worst I've seen it with the exception of the holiday events, in LA with the fireworks going off.

It's been continuously getting worse. I can't do anything on a Friday night, Saturday afternoon or Sunday afternoon now. I'm guaranteed to d/c.

And after being lagged to death right out of the gate in 3 of my last 4 FoW runs, I no longer do anything that requires being in a party, because I know I won't be any good to anybody.

Which is why I've been playing City of Villains lately -- everything that I still need or want to do requires a party (FoW, UW, FA, last Titan Quest on one of my characters).

Anet must be up to something. Pvp is impossible to do atm with all the err5s and the lag.

Oh well... it hasen't been TOO big of an issue. I can say, our guild won't be doing any rated GvG's any time soon. Unless the ladder is messed up.. and I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

total count ... in 4 hours of trying to play on my weekend.. i have had 10 d/c and lagg the whole time... i shit you not...

If i was anet i would consider this a HUGE priority to fix. cause if this is how its gonna be when factions comes rollin around... well i dont wanna buy a game if i cant get anywhere in it becuase im getting disconects the whole time...

I am curious to know what errors people are getting.. i didnt get any code for mine .. it just says that my connection was lost.. i know its not me.. i have been playing fine for 6 months. and now all the sudden this crap

I think thats the cause of the lag, we are streaming more and more factions into our logs or whatever

Well, I thought most of us already stremed most of the content into our hard drives. I guess, with all the new players, that would be logical. It will only get worse, IMO. So get used to it for a while.

There is a Thread in Technician's Corner entitled (loosely) "Let's Kill the Lag Monster".

IN that thread are instructions and a link to a tool that performs checks and tracerts to different Anet servers.

If you want to help Anet track down the lag monster, then head to that thread and follow the directions.

my fix to the lag i encouter is quitting gw and starting anew. usually clears lag issues. Not really a good way to solve the problem when you are in a group and every time another member starts lagging.

luckily i didn't had disconnects because of err=anything

Me too. I've gotten maybie one Err 7 prior to this weekend. FoW was vitually unplayable Friday night for me. I spent the rest of the weekend soloing (when I wasn't watching an Invader Zim marathon

) .

For me, it was much, much worse. Not only am I lagging like hell, but I lost 3k just trying to get into FoW. And got error 7 EACH time I tried it.

I hope, you are all sending reports when these lag spikes occur. Instead of running here to flame about them. I want them fixed just as much as you all do, but complaining about them does nothing to fix the issue. Sent those reports peeps, when it's happening!!! Not 1 week later

sigh...err=7 when I was killing the last dragon in Dragon's Lair mission. Disconnect timing is always the worst. It will not happen at the beginning or middle but at the end.

Mmm, yeah...

It's quite fun sometimes though, to lag and then click through Eviscerate/Axe Rake/Executioners Strike = one second the target is standing still with half health, then after a few seconds of lag, suddenly they are dead.

What is annoying is when you're doing a combo and a skill is missed out. Axe Rake without a deep wound from Eviscerate... damn!

And of course... Someone's using a Res Signet and lag stops my Distracting Blow! Grr!

I'm not sure what's causing this 'Lag Storm', but hopefully it'll blow away before it's time to go to Cantha!
